DAPHNE'S FRAGRANCE GARDEN
1535 S. Mebane St.
Burlington, NC
(336) 222-5135
In the words of its benefactor Pat Yarborough, Daphne’s Fragrance Garden was “designed for the visually impaired, but is a gift to all people.” The Fragrance Garden, located adjacent to the
Kernodle Senior Center at 1535 South Mebane Street, was originally dedicated in August, 2009 and was recently expanded in September, 2014. Mrs. Yarborough, a blind resident, donated the garden in honor of her first service dog, Daphne. The garden contains 42 varieties of plants, including fragrant junipers, knockout roses, and boxwoods. It also features a fountain, a waterfall, arbors and two pergolas, making it a perfect place for reflection on a spring day. Signage is provided in Braille and printed brochures are available so that all people can experience and learn about Daphne’s Fragrance Garden.
