Welcome to the Burlington Fire Department's web page. It is our hope that the contents of this site will help the citizens of Burlington protect themselves from fire and other emergencies by developing a safety-oriented community. We realize that accidents do happen but we want the public to know what services we provide, how to contact us and what to do until we arrive.

The Fire Department is made up of three divisions and links to each division can be found in the column to the left on a desktop browser.  Mobile users should scroll down to the bottom of the page and use items found under "Navigation".  Visit each division for information on how we protect the lives and property of the people in Burlington, NC. Always call 911 in case of an emergency.

Strategic Plan Public Input Opportunity
June 3rd   - 11:30am - Kernodle Senior Center 


For the first time, the Burlington Fire Department is undergoing the process of creating a strategic plan. This process will define the future goals and initiatives of fire service in Burlington. The Center for Public Safety Excellence is assisting in the creation of the strategic plan, and will help facilitate a public input session. The public input session will be held on June 3rd, from 11:30am to 1:00pm, at the Kernodle Senior Center, located at 1535 South Mebane Street.

RSVP Deadline is May 30. 

All Burlington residents are invited and are asked to come prepared to share their feedback on the services of the Burlington Fire Department areas of focus they would like to see in the future. The department is comprised of three divisions: Emergency Response Division, Training Division and Fire Prevention Division. Within these divisions, the Burlington Fire Department run approx. 9,500 calls annually, holds over 400 educational programs for the community and trains over 200 hours per firefighter annually. The personnel of the Burlington Fire Department are committed to the safety and well-being of the citizens of Burlington and strive daily to ensure the department lives up to its mission statement.
