As stated in the Code of Ordinances for the City of Burlington, Article II, Section 6-19, certificate and registration number required.
It shall be unlawful for any resident of the city to operate or use a bicycle propelled wholly or in part by muscular power upon any of the streets, alleys or public highways of the City without first obtaining a certificate of registration from the police department and attaching to such bicycle a registration number (Code 1959, 6-1; Ordinance No. 87-25, 1, 6-2-87).
Registering Your Bicycle
You may register your bike by bringing it to the Burlington Police Department Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 AM and 7:00 PM and asking for a representative from the Records Division. There is no charge for this service.
